For my Beauty Salon which social media should I use? Is Facebook best for a Make up Artist?

Which social media should I use? Which is best? Should I be on all of them? These are really important questions for all Salons, Nail Techs and Make up Artists.

My simple reply would be to concentrate on one and get that right, you can always add more when you get the hang of it. Then make sure that you have all of your profiles on the other platforms correctly filled out. Make sure all of the information up to date. Have links to wherever you want people to go to find out more. Email addresses and telephone numbers etc. I also advise checking them monthly, maybe updating the header/cover photos to keep them fresh.

You need to decide where to concentrate most of your efforts.

And to do this think about who your ideal clients are. Think about your best clients, and your favourite clients. Then think about what social media they are most likely to use. In general I would say Facebook and Instagram are probably the best options for most people in Beauty, Hair and Holistic businesses. Others to choose from include Twitter, Linked In, Pinterest. As well as considering your target clients think about what you like doing as well, if you like it, it will be so much easier to do.

My favourite Social media for my business is definitely Facebook, but I am also using Instagram a lot too. I have profiles on all platforms and try to keep them up to date. I am starting to use all of the platforms a bit more. Using tools to help me get stuff done. If you share the correct content that your followers and potential clients want/need to see, then all platforms will work really well. Find out more about the content you need to be sharing.

Social Media should be a part of your marketing strategy, but you should also have a website, Google Business page and a mailing list too.
